My husband and I were happy with the staffs there. They were very friendly and helpful. Hotel rooms are nice and spacious. Cleaniess very well done and room attendant were very polite to us too. Our honeymoon stay at The George was good. Will go back and stay again during our next visit to Christchurch.

The eating establishments and bars within the hotel were very superior, but the rooms didn't hold up to rest of the hotel. They are very small and the double beds are very short. Only small/short people could share a bed. Ask for a queen (costs more) to make sure you have enough sleeping room. Let's just say you don't want to spend any time in the room except to sleep. However, the service, location, and cleanliness were fantastic.

Very nice hotel. Free internet , Laundry room , excellent service . Friendly staff , and great drinks . It is a little bit more money than the average hotel in New Zealand , but it is worth it . The walk to get into the main drag was about 15 min , but not too bad . Fairly close to airport , about a $25 NZ cab fair . It is right across the street from a huge park , and the Botanical Gardens which are Amazing to say the least !! I loved New Zealand , and finished my 2 week journey around both Islands up at the George , it was a perfect ending to such a wonderful trip . Everyone that I encountered in New Zealand was nice and helpful, and very polite !!! Have fun :)
