Don't waste your time and money
We've been all over to see art museums from LA to Paris. This place the employees were rude, the art was just sad, and the visit was a huge disappointment. Go to the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. You'll be much happier.

not a student-friendly museum.
The staff from the SF MoMa are very unfriendly and mean, especially if you're a student getting a discounted ticket. The information desk is not very helpful. The receptionist was very lazy, and seemed like she did not want to do her job at all, as if it was an inconvenience for her to help customers. The security people are also gawking at your every move, and will try to find the least possible reason to yell at you and to embarrass you in front of everyone, just from taking a flash-free picture. The camera I used to take a picture was not even a real camera, it was a tiny cell phone. I was only admiring a painting that inspired me. I wanted to have a glimpse of it, in case it influences me in my own artistic development (as an aspiring painter myself). It seemed funny to me, how so many people were carrying actual cameras, with zooming lenses, and they were ignored by the security. And I was holding a mere, tiny cell phone, to take a very tiny picture, and I was purposely embarrassed by the security lady. It felt as if discrimination towards students is an acceptable practice in this museum. I wish I had never gone there, and that I had not thought of actually exposing myself to this museum for potential inspiration for my own art practice. I regret going to this place. I should not have to pay only to get yelled at, and to be embarrassed in front of everyone. One helpful tip, do not even make eye contact with the security because they will glare at you for even being there.

Double decker bus ride to a private party
After opening the Hotel on Cyril Magnum ( in 84 )Drive, we hired a double decker bus, all of us with champagne bottles in our hands and had a birthday party within the museum , cake and champagne , and we all gathered at a very large table to celabrate our friends birthday. We were also allowed to wander through the museum, God, I love museums, But This one was one of the best I have ever been in,,,,,Every one who visits the city should put their walking shoes on and wander in, and leave the madness of cars, noise, and come in and relax and revel in the arts. Gift Shop
Modern Art is not one of my favorite things, so I never spend money to go into the museum. However the gift shop is one of the best gift shops of any museum I have been to. I would reccommend anyone go to the free gift shop first I can always find something interesting to buy there. So many of the things make great thoughtful gifts.

Thank God for artististic explanations
I've never ever liked an art museum until yesterday. The museum helps you understand what you're looking at and helps you understand why it's important with little blurbs to the side of selected paintings. It gives you context without telling you what to think. Thank you so much for becoming my liasion to art SFMOMA. I am forever in your debt as I know love art.

A Little Stuffy for My Tastes
If you're into all things artsy, then this is the place for you. The only thing here that caught my eye was the photography exhibits. Some great work on display by talented photographers can be found here. Otherwise, it was a little too high brow to suit me.

Great Family Activity
Modern art of such a wide variety that there is something for every age of art lover. Try taking your children to an educational experience they will never forget. Art appreciation begins at an early age. My daughter & I had a great time & picked out an art postcard after in the gift shop of our favorite piece of artwork that we saw that day. An inexpensive reminder of our trip together to the MOMA.

art museum
I loved the layout of the art museum and my friends and I had a great time exploring the many wonderful exibits. I liked the fact that you are able to leave and return on the same day so you can go grab lunch in the park and return for the afternoon.
