Built in 1891 as a private school for girls, the Charlotte Jane became a boutique hotel more than 100 years later in 1997. This beautiful building is set in a mature garden in the heart of Merivale, popular for its cafes and specialist boutique shops. The suites are spacious and individually decorated to suit the tastes of discerning travellers. Rich native timbers, stained glass windows and fine furnishing create an ambience that is truly intimate. The Alexander Lawrence Restaurant with its French-inspired menu, combined with fine New Zealand food and wine, is bound to suit any guest.
