Very surprised!!!
After reading the reviews on this site prior to our trip I have to say I was nervous. However; we were very surprised and pleased with our stay. We had a large group (11) attending a national conference here and everyone enjoyed themselves. The facilties for the seminars were very nice and well-equipped.

Probably won't return to Gaylord Opryland Hotel
After a two day/two night stay at this hotel, I was more than ready to depart.

Gaylord Opryland is gigantic
This place has 9 ACRES of tropical gardens in the middle of the hotel, you get lost all the time when trying to find your room. The place is a maze with no easy to navigate design. we were there for 2 days and 2 nights and were lost most of the time. You cannot park at registration (unless you use valet parking for an extra $10 per day on top of the $20 per day parking charge). Don't plan on parking near your room, there is only 1 lot and it isn't near any rooms.

Two Sows Ears
Talk about trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.... Just back from 5 nights at the Gaylord Opryland. Got in at 11:00 p.m. after working all day and flying 500 miles. The last shuttle, for which we pre-paid, left 30 minutes before we arrived. Our reserved king room was gone and we offered an "upgrade" to a party suite with a hide-a-bed. We were promised a king room next a.m. with atrium view. We did get a king room, but miles from any of the atriums. Incredibly complicated layout, high prices, terrible food, indifferent, unhelpful, basically untrained staff. Nicest people there were the shuttle drivers and the Hertz employees. We would never stay again, nor recommend.

Would not recommed
The place is so over priced. $18 just to park?? $25 for valet. $15 for the key to the room which gives you free shutter and internet. Our room was so far down the hall we got lost twice trying to find the room.

Not worth the money...
It looks good. That is the only thing i liked about it. The air inside the hotel is not healthy at all. Food not as good, I have stayed before in other hotels in Nashville who offered a better food service. Opryland is just overrated.

Will Not Return
Return visitor on the weekend of 7-24-09. Have visited many times before and always had a family atmosphere - no more. I believe conventions are all the management really desires. Restaurants are catered almost solely to adults with the exception of the pizza and burger place. If you want breakfast for a child, it's either room service or drive somewhere. We never got a working refrigerator in our room during the entire visit. Maybe conventions visitors are all the establishment wants.
