The Lowe Art Museum not only houses an extensive art collection, but it also serves as a learning facility. Back in 1953, a group of professional women known as the Beaux Arts decided to add the learning component by constructing an educational wing for art classes. Today, the Lowe Art Museum hosts an annual fundraising event featuring works by 250 artists, food, entertainment and art classes for children.
