one visit
The exhibition about the 20 years of terrorism is excellent. As a forgeiner, it really helps understand what these people went through. Very detailed.you need to be there for at least a couple of hours.

Face value
Yes the museum holds a lot of interesting material, but the exhibits lack proper identification and explanation. This is used to force tourists to pay for a guide, which I think is cheap.

Good introduction to pre-hispanic Peruvian Culture
The Museo de la Nación is a great opportunity to understand the rich cultural history of Peru. Many of the Country's archaeological treasures are located here (and not at the sites where they were discovered).

Outstanding
This museum is outstanding. I suggest using a guide( a tip is the only cost) then wandering around on your own. The pottery collection is worth the price of admission. Its a great place to visit before exploring the country.
