Nice's film archive, the brainchild of Henri Langlois, has firmly established itself as a first-rate cinema and film archive. A member of the Fédération Nationale des Cinémathèques et Archives de France, it is one of the most dynamic in France, thanks to the sheer numbers of people who attend screenings. It has thousands of reels as well as a remarkable quantity of archival footage. Every month there are theme-based screenings, like an exploration of the works of Pasolini or an homage to Nouvelle Vague ("New Wave") cinema. Big name directors and other industry luminaries sometimes visit. Admission: Adults EUR3; Students EUR1.50; EUR6 for three films.
