One of Cologne's best addresses for indie and alternative music. Reasonable prices and free entry to mid-week parties make the Underground extremely popular with locals. The main stage has a capacity of 350 and features up-and-coming American and British bands on tour, as well as local groups. There are also club nights (after the gigs as well), which feature Britpop and hip-hop sounds. In summer the beer garden is packed with students, and is a good place to catch some oxygen after the loud, smoky club. No admission is charged for the bar and cafe.
