Video Guide

This mausoleum, located at the foot of the majestic looking Angel de la Independencia, is seldom open to the public. In general, access is only available during holiday periods when visitors from outside the capital and from abroad are expected. When it is open, tours are organized every fifteen minutes, headed by a guide who explains what is displayed in each showcase. The most interesting historical objects are the books and weapons, as well as the remains of independence fighters such as Nicolás Bravo, Leona Vicario and Vicente Herrero. Also on show is the skull of Miguel Hidalgo, the so-called Father of Independence, along with that of his predecessor, Ignacio Allende. Admission is free and there are parking facilities in nearby streets. Video cameras and food are strictly not allowed.
