Back to Basilica di San Lorenzo San Lorenzo is too beautiful to be missed The unfinished exterior facade is entirely misleading. The beauty to be beheld inside both architecturally and artistically is absolutely breath taking. If you are at all religiously inclined you are in for a moment of grace the minute you enter this moving church. The divine presence will surround you with the exquisite works of Donatello and many other artists of the Quadracento. Come in a give your heart and soul a lift. You will never forget it.

Reviewed by: Yvonne M from on Dec 15 2006 OH! The history! My FAVORITE church in Italy thus far. I have been here 3 times and each time, tears were brought to my eyes. Works by Donatello, Michelangelo, and Brunelleschi intrigue and amaze! I took all my guests to the first Renaissance Church. The facade designed by Michelagelo was never carried out and the exterior isn't impressive, but once inside you'll be amazed!
