Back to Grand Hotel Plaza Overpriced "luxury" This hotel is a rip off for the amount of money you'll pay. The location is wonderful, and the room was quiet, but that's about all it had to offer. The man who checked us in was rude and talked to us like we were 4 year olds. The Lemon Terrace was not as advertised - the bar was supposed to be open until 22:00, but we went at 18:00, all the seats were covered, and I didn't see anywhere that a bar could have been setup. The rooms were adequate at best - for a 5 star I would expect an iron or full sized mirror, but this room had neither - the only mirror in the bathroom. The shower drain hardly worked, after 2 minutes you were standing in a puddle. The info desk was always crowded and busy, I would advise they get more staff for it. If you have a lot of money to waste, this is the place for you. If you're an average joe like me, who saved up for what I thought would be a 5 star experience, save your money and stay somewhere else.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 20 2007 A GREAT HOTEL MY WIFE AND I SPENT 8 WONDERFULL DAYS AT THE PLAZA AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY. IT IS WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING. THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND THE FOOD IN THE BAR WAS GOOD. WE WOULD GO BACK IN A HEART BEAT.
Reviewed by: IVANR from on Mar 22 2007 Lovely surprise! This is a terrific hotel. I had read some negative online reviews and was worried that when I got there, it would be grubby, unfriendly etc. Nothing could be further from the truth! The members of staff were very helpful. The room was spotless. The location is to die for! I visited friends in other (equally swanky) hotels, but I wouldn't have swapped with any of them.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 27 2006 Do not Recommend Do not spend $200-$300 American on this place. They have a very beautiful lobby and morning breakfast area, but the guest rooms are deplorable. They were uniformly unclean and the amenities non-existent. Room had hairdryer but broken and obviously ancient vintage. FRont desk staff arrogant and rude.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 16 2006 Fabulous We had a wonderful time, the hotel could not have had a better location, loved the grandeur. Felt like a movie star when we stayed here in 2002. In fact, I was looking for it again online just to check it out again so decided to post here. Love love loved it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 06 2006 You can't beat the location I love the Plaza. The location is fantastic - right off the via Condotti where all the great shops are. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and spacious.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 20 2006 True Advice Having booked this Hotel via the internet and was particularly taken by the online photos, I will admit that when my wife and I arrived we thought that the taxi had made a mistake and dropped us at the wrong place! - unfortunatly he didn't!!!.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 08 2006 The worse hotel ever! Do not book at this hotel or you will be extremely disappointed. The hotel claims it is a 5 star but is only worthy of a one star. It is dirty, outdated and in need of a significant rehab. The service was horrible - everything from requesting additional towels, to trying to check in and check out. There are no redeeming qualities about this hotel except for the location. But for the price of this hotel, there are many others that are much less expensive that are much newer, cleaner and nicer.
