Back to Hacienda Royal Hotel Great Place I thought this place was great. The only problem I had was with my key working every time. For some reason or another it kept messing up on me and I'd have to get it re-done at the desk.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 13 2006 Truly a home away from home! This was my first trip back to Bogota in 43 years. Unfortunately both Mom and I caught a cold and were very sick the first 4 days (fever and all...). The hotel called a doctor who actually came to our room and took care of us. They also sent one of their staff to a drug store to fill our prescriptions (at no extra charge). The hotel chef fixed us a special home remedy for us to drink before going to bed!. Their restaurant, drivers and all hotel staff were very very nice. They treated us like royalty! Everyone from the hotel manager to the lady who cleaned our room were wonderful, very polite and eager to take care of us. Their service is the best I've experience anywhere. The hotel is very clean and located in a very nice and safe area. It is also attached to a very nice shopping mall which came in handy, since they tell you to take it easy the first two days due to the change in altitudes.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 13 2006 Excellent Choice We just returned from Bogota and stayed at the Hacienda Royal for 5 nights. Extremely service oriented with modern, clean rooms. This hotel is almost new and is connected to a large mall with many shops and banks as well as a large food court. Hacienda Royal is located in the safest part of the city (north zone) and is only 1 block from Avenida Septima, one of the (2) major north-south connectors running through Bogota. Highly recommended with only one drawback- the gym shown on their website is not a greenhouse-style, glassed-in gym- it is in the basement. This is the sister hotel to the Bogota Royal Hotel located at the World Trade Center. We paid about $120./night which we found to be a medium price for Bogota hotels.

External security is tight with an armed guard at the main entrance. The breakfast buffet is superb and the people at the front desk, the waiters and the maid are very friendly and helpful. It could have been a highly satisfactory stay except for one thing, which puzzles me to this day:
Reviewed by: No2dittoheads from on May 06 2005 My favorite place to stay in Bogota A very nice hotel, friendly staff, great location. Rooms are very comfortable, but be aware that they are not air conditioned. (Most hotels in Bogota are not, due to the cool climate). With the windows open, barking dogs in the neighborhood can be a problem. Direct access through the lobby to a very nice little mall, with a fast food section and a small movie theater, is an extra convenience.
