At this meet, visitors can explore 26 installations from the collection at the the museum itself or from other museums in Columbia. The La Pieza Invitada is a bi-monthly event taking place every two months.

The building was originally the home of Augustinian monks. Previously know as the Museo de Artes y Tradiciones Populares, the building and the collection were turned over to National University of Colombia in 2006. Today it offers a wide collection of handicrafts from all over the country. The number of exhibits gives an idea of the diversity and richness of Colombian craft work. The museum contains two exhibition rooms and an auditorium. Admission is free for all visitors.
