One of Chile's governors, José Antonio Manso de Velasco, used to live in this beautiful colonial style home, which dates back to the year 1730, and whose large walls are painted in red. In the beginning of the Republic it was owned by Rodríguez Aldea, General Minister of Bernardo O'Higgins, who constructed the second floor. In 1841 it changed ownership to José María Velasco Almarza. It is now the headquarters of the Republic's Senate. One can only visit the surrounding grounds.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
