This showcase of Singapore's sporting heritage was officially launched in 1983 in conjunction with the state's hosting of the 12th SEA Games. Besides honouring the nation's top sports personalities, the museum serves as a repository for historically significant sports items. These include the only Olympic medal won to date by a Singaporean, All-England Badminton Cups won from 1950-52 and a 1989 World Games gold medal. In addition, there are exhibits on sports of the colonial era as well as indigenous and traditional games, taking you through the history of the sporting scene in Singapore. Admission is free.
