Back to Rijksmuseum wait until 2013 The real Rijksmuseum is closed until 2013 for renovation... there's a SMALL collection on display in an annex. You'd be better spent going to the Van Gogh Museum or the underappreciated City Museum.
Reviewed by: Anonymouse from on Jul 07 2008 Rijksmuseum Very cool looking building and great location. Go see the "Night Watch" and many more famous paintings. Worth a visit. Allow 1-2 hours.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 06 2008 not too impressed! not too impressed since two third of the museum are closed until late 2008 and it still cost you 10 euro for a walk that only took me just under an hour.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 03 2007 A Day @ the Rijks This is a must see stop in Amsterdam. We have been in this great city several times and we always go back. No matter how many times you go you gain a new appreciation of the artist. The figures appear they are able to walk right out of the paintings. The museum is worth your time and $$'s.
Reviewed by: FL fan from on Sep 09 2007 Under renovation Only 14 out of about 140 rooms are open during this renovation that is expected to last for several years. While the paintings they have are wonderful, we were disappointed because we are used to seeing the entire collection.
Reviewed by: alltimelowrox989 from on Jul 27 2007 A must see. The display was limited due to renovation, but the artwork was breathtaking. Works by Vermeer and Rembrandt are exhibited. I found "The Night Watch" by Rembrandt to be especially breathtaking.
Reviewed by: Pamela from on May 30 2007 Wow I so did not think I would like this place. I don't normally care for musuems. This place is great. The artwork is jaw dropping. The antiques are stunning and the set up is very open.

Reviewed by: Ghaith from on Feb 07 2007 Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam The Rijksmuseum is easy to get after stepping off the train and crossing to your left to the busline to catch a bus displaying its destination overhead. If not, just ask because all bus drivers speaking English as well as a few other languages, such as French and German. Maybe even Spanish. Who knows? But definitely English.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 08 2007 Take your time and enjoy Take your time to enjoy everything in this incredible museum. I found myself getting taken back in time as I studied the paintings. There is no way to explain the emotion that overcomes you as you are viewing these originals. Although it seems somewhat more restrictive, I would suggest a guided headphone tour especially if you are not an art history expert as it will greatly expand your knowledge on many subjects and make your visit much more meaningful.
