Awesome
Awesome beach! Very beautiful, and of course beautiful Brazilian women! It's nice all around (weather if you are just walking along, sunbathing, etc). Got to love the coconut stands too!

Great beach in Rio de Janeiro
Great place to visit in rio. One of the best sopts of the city. You also must visit the Ipanema and Leblon beaches. In Barra you can go to Joatinga also.

next time will give this beach a wide berth
like most people will say the brazilians are truly the friendliest people i have ever met,, copocabana is a very dirty beach in my opinion every time you want to cool of in the often polluted water you will find that if no one is watching your towel and top it wil be gone within the 5 minutes of being in the water,,, it is a haven for thieves and hookers

Famous for a reason
The beach is as beautiful in person as it is in the postcards. Beautiful views from all parts of the Copa. Great shopping bargains at the evening bazaar. Spent a lot of time on the Avenue, day and night. I was warned of the dangers of the Copa and Rio in general, never a moment of where I felt afraid or threatened. Loved every moment.

Ipanema is better
If you like large sweaty crowds of lower class and gay tourists, Copacabana is your place. Otherwise head to Ipanema for better beaches, food, and accomodations.

If in Rio, would you miss this beach?
Everyone in the world has heard about the Copacabana and if you're in Rio you are not going to avoid it are you? Nice very wide beach that connects to Ipanema to the south. There was some kind of greenish scum all along on the edge of the waterline when I was there....not sure whether it was pollution or some type of algae. I liked the coconut trees along the beach. On Sundays, they close off the ocean side of the avenue Atlantica to cards for pedestrian traffic...and a whole bunch of people take their Sunday morning walks seriously walking very briskly on the avenue.

Awesome!
Copacabana must be one of the world's most famous and beautiful beaches! Certain people who have heard of Copacabana might even know that Natasha Bedingfield's 'These Words' was filmed on the famous beach.
