David - AMAZING!
Even if you are strapped for time and only see the statue of David and the unfinished Michelangelo statues leading the way to the main attraction, it is worth the cost. The perfection of the human body down to the veins portruding from the hands, the stance of the body with muscles, and determination seen in David's eyes blew me away. It is perfection and takes your breath away that you are actually looking at such a masterpiece by the great Michaelangelo. You can see what made him one of the greatest sculptures of the time and today. Breath-taking!!! Do NOT MISS it, or you will kick yourself in years to come!

Number one attraction in town
The art is superb. Don't miss it! Make a reservation for sure. You will still need to wait in line for a while. Show up on time, not much earlier.

David
Do not be surprised - the main (practically only) attraction here is David and that's what people pay to see. Everything else is pretty much thrown in as a second thought. I did enjoy the room that has original casts of statues dating back 100s of years. Do not get there more than 20 minutes before your entry time. Otherwise you'll be standing in line waiting for your group to be called.

compare this
Unbelievable you can see in David the veins, the muscles, the detail is fabulous. How can you compare this to ponte vecchio? This has to be number 1 in Florence.

Wow!
The statue of David is worth the visit! Don't be confused by the copy in the square. Get reservations before you go! We went kind of late in the day.

Accademia
Seeing Michelangelo's David was amazing but seeing in so many other pictures and travel books that it took some of the magnificence away. What blew me away the most was the hallway leading up to David. Seeing all the unfinished boulders that Michelangelo had used in previous sculptures was really cool to see. It was really worth seeing and if I could would go back to see it again.

The "David" is breathtaking
The statue of "David" by Michaelangelo is the most important piece and the best at the Accademia. The lighting complements the magnificent statue. The rest of the works are very good but "The David" is worth the trip by itself.

Il Duomo
Il Duomo in Florence was spectacular. The cathedral is gorgeous with the pink, white, and emerald granite stone it is made out of. The view from on top the dome of the Cathedral is unbelievable, and worth the 200 or 500 or so steps it takes to get up there.
