Housed in a rather run-down shopping mall that is teeming with art shops, the HaKaran Art Gallery stands out cheerfully with its bright yellow walls. Established in 1997, it carries sculptures and contemporary paintings in oil, ink and watercolor by China-born artists. Of special mention are the realist works by Fang Xiang, which brilliantly capture scenes of Southern China on Chinese rice paper. The gallery will soon be expanding its collection to include local artists. It holds regular exhibitions at the Sheraton Towers hotel lobby.
