I have been a Burke Williams patron for over eight years and have loved it. I have had excellent pedicures, massages, etc. In the past six months, however, I have had several bad experiences that include a therapist who talked so much, she forgot to turn me over (so she only massaged my back) and another therapist who cracked my neck at the end of a stretch (after I asked him not to twice). But the worst recently included a therapist who insisted on doing shiatsu (again, in spite of me asking him not to) and popped my back with the full weight of his body--so hard that my head started to throb, I got dizzy and I had to ask him to stop the massage (I had a headache for two days); and lastly, a great massage therapist who was sick with a bad cold or the flu (and I didn't realize how sick he was until about twenty minutes into the massage). I didn't complain the first two times, I just asked for another therapist when I returned. But I did the last two times. I was given the massages for free, but this last time, the manager told me it was my responsibility to have stopped the sick therapist and asked for another therapist--I was astonished that that a manager suggested that a customer was responsible for making sure a therapist didn't have the flu . . . I will be looking for another spa, even though it makes me sad to leave . . .

My facial was absolutely amazing...my skin glowed for days and the person who did it (Florence) was skilled and gave me great tips. My partner on the other hand had a massage therapist who told her that she talked too much and that's why she didn't get her whole body done...because she was distracted!?!?!?!? We subsequently heard that Burke Williams is not known for great massages.

Everything about this place is wonderful. Friendly staff, super clean facilities, and a variety of services offered. Overall, a fabulous place to treat yourself. Treat yourself to a massage and one of their many "flavored" bath.

It's a very nice place to go and relax. Clean and quiet place make you be very comfortable. I love the massage every time I get it when I go there and also appriciate the stuff's help and service. Will go there always. I wish it was cheaper so I could afford and go there more often.

My girlfriend and i went to get a massage and scrubs. And the whole time i was getting a massage the theripist was complanning about how much she made. Which is 18-20 dollars a massage while the massage is 120 dollars. That did'nt seem fair to us. We will not be back.

I have been to most of the BW's in LA and by far the best experience I had was at the Sherman Oaks location. I am used to getting massaged pretty regularly due to low back pain and I also have 2 small children who keep me pretty tied up. The staff at the S.O. location was so pleasant and kind, I felt right at home. I was given a tour of the spa and felt that the decor, while masculine, was very relaxing all in of itself. There are sounds of water everywhere, and the attendants in the Ladies spa were very helpful.

THIS SPA WAS VERY CLEAN AND SOOO RELAXING. IT'S LIKE BEING IN ANOTHER WORLD. A TRUE RETREAT FROM L.A'S BUSY LIFE. THE STAFF WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND POLITE. THEIR FRUIT WATER IS SO GOOD AND REFRESHING. I RECOMMEND THE PEDICURES. BEST FOOT MASSAGE I'VE HAD. A LITTLE PRICY BUT DON'T WE ALL DESERVE IT! I WOULD GO BACK IN A HEARTBEAT.
