Presented every Thanksgiving, the Atlanta Marathon and Half-Marathon have quickly become the second largest races in Atlanta. The marathon (26.2 miles) starts outside Turner Field, and the half-marathon (13.1 miles) starts at Peachtree Road, north of the Clairmont intersection half an hour later. A great volunteer staff and enthusiastic participants make these very fun, though also very competitive races, as well as cause for one of the liveliest parties in the city.
