This shopping district has a distinctly serene neighbourhood feel. That's probably because it's set in Vancouver's oldest and most prestigious locale. It is a perfect area for calm browsing and hassle-free shopping. Specialty shops run the gamut from decorator stores (Pleasantries, the Cloth Shop, and Splish Splash Bath Boutiques) and fashion boutiques, to hardware (Hewer Home Hardware) and grocers. Choose from casual to fine dining in places like Dentry's Irish Grill and Brock House Conservatory. Many of the retailers carry high-end merchandise, but a range of shops is present.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! Artists in our Midst
Apr 1st, 2010 to Apr 30th, 2010
A large group of city artists hosts this art exhibition called Artists in our Midst, which is held in open studios and homes across the city. More than 70 artists take part, allowing visitors to step into city galleries, artists' homes and art spaces one weekend in April. Take the two days to tour around the quiet neighborhood studios of Kitsilano, Dunbar and Point Grey and see paintings, ceramics, sculpture, photography and more. Brochures and Web site info will let you know which houses and studios you can visit. Admission to all exhibitions and events is free. See their website for event times. The preview exhibit is held at the Lord Byng Gallery from 7pm-9pm.
