The UW campus, like any major state school, is truly admirable in an antiquated sort of way. If anything, go there for the architecture - you won't find similar-sized Gothic buildings anywhere else in Seattle! Try to make it in the spring when hundreds of cherry blossoms are freckling the campus' main lawn. During the spring/summer there are quite a few worthwhile festivals and bazaars taking place on University Ave, right outside campus.

Best sight seeing in Spring
I went to this University for my Bachelor so I was there all year round for almost 4 years. I wouldn't say it's best place for visiting, but it is a gorgous place to be at around Spring time, when the cherry blossom blooming. Around the Red square and the path leading to the water fountain, it is breath taking with the cherry blossom and the fresh air scene.
