Stories about the boy king's reign 3,300 years ago are legendary; however, one thing is certain: he was surrounded by art, beauty, and opulence. The amazing exhibition includes carvings and statues that were used in his daily life as well as entombed with him in his burial chambers. The exhibit contains 130 artifacts in amazingly well-preserved condition, some of which have never before been out of Egypt. More than 5 million people worldwide have attended the exhibit but ticket-holders for the Dallas Museum of Art leg of the tour get to see items never before shown on U.S. soil. Upon entering the exhibit through a large set of wooden doors, visitors enter a small, dark theater to view a short introduction to the exhibit, narrated by Omar Sharif. Each room in the exhibit is painted and lit to compliment the items on display. The artifacts themselves are an amazing testament to intricate art and craftsmanship wrought in gold, wood, metals, and precious stones. Visitors should allot approximately 90 minutes to fully experience this exhibit.
