Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 03 2007 Great art! Just next to the San Diego Zoo (to the right of the zoo entrance) is a charming little village setting for artists. If you like local artists of different classes and styles, from glass to pottery, from oils to jewelry, you need to visit the Spanish Village. I collect glass. Two great glass places here. San Diego Gem and Mineral scociety is also there. Kids loved it!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 19 2004 Wow! Walking around in this brightly-colored artists' haven reminds one of traveling through Munchkin Land! Through windows in little studios one can see myriad forms taking shape. Potters, glass blowers, jewelry makers, painters & other crafters all make their home here. Art is for sale all over the place! A really cool experience, and a great place to find gift items (or things for yourself!).
Reviewed by: Berkana from on Sep 13 2004 San Diego's Spanish Village - Great art & prices! A whole village of art shops with jewelry, enamels, pottery, glass, sculpture and much more. Don't miss this great amalgam of local artists. Since the city supports and each studio/shop is a coop of artists working in that medium, pieces are excellent, unique and very reasonably priced. Reserve at least 3 hours if you are an art lover.
