Back to Aquarium Of The Americas Will probably not go back. This website states the hours of operation for the aquarium as being 9:30 -7:00 pm. This is incorrect. The actual hours are 9:30 till 5:00. We missed our opportunity to visit because of this error.

Reviewed by: heather from on Aug 18 2009 Ideally Located close to other attractions I took my daughter and granddaughter for a visit, found it nicely laid out and easy to follow. Attractions were open and plenty to see and visit. Atmosphere was quite relaxing. It did take us about an hour and half to go through the aquarium but well worth it. Granddaughter got a delight in trying to pet the baby stingrays zooming along, nurse shark must have been a bit cranky, nearly turned on my granddaughter but it's caretaker was keeping a very careful watch and warned us in time, there's even a small play area for the children, nice gift shop. Great place to visit and cool off after walking the French Quarter in the humid heat and not far at all from the other interesting places in French Quarter. We were even treated to a small treat afterwards by a very elderly African-American gentleman who sang a bluesy-soul song to us outside.
Reviewed by: D. from on Feb 17 2009 The Best of New Orleans In my opinion this is the best thing to do as a family in New Orleans. The Big Easy is my favorite city but it is not very family friendly at times. This is always a great place for children and adults to enjoy. Everyone is very courteous and polite. Always something new to see.
Reviewed by: West from on Feb 17 2009 Love It! As a native of the area I moved away due to my going into the military, but it doesn't stop me from visiting and since I have children now I educate them on New Orleans rich history. They love the aquarium and insist on visiting every time.
Reviewed by: Tanna from on Dec 28 2008 Fun in the air conditioning. Great exhibits and a welcome break from the heat. For kids, there is a sting ray touch tank and a nurse shark touch tank.
Reviewed by: Elizabeth G from on Jul 08 2008 Great vacation place!!! I live in Lafayette and we visit every so often. I never realized how expansive the exbits are until we visted one in California. The entire exhibit would fit comfortably in my house! The Aquarium of the Americas is the kinda place you could loose yourself in for hours...
Reviewed by: Adia from on Jun 24 2008 B- I've read it somewhere, it's A place to go, but not THE place to go.. with such the small building you can see from outside, you wouldn't see much in there. Probably because I'm from California, but this place is small to me. 1-2 hours at most you'll be out of there.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 08 2008 Excellent attraction This place could take up over two hours of your time easily if you indulged in all the informative ways the exhibits were displayed; plenty of guides with lots of information also; interaction with some species which appeal to children of all ages!
Reviewed by: casey from on Jun 07 2008 We Love This Place! We loved everything about it. It was so educational and hands on my son eyes were not big enough to see it all.I have 4 kids in all and only 1 had the chance to experience this but when my son came back and told the others and they saw our photos of the trip, they want to visit also. At one point I think that I was more excited han he was because I have never seen penguins and jellyfish in real life! It is an experience he and I will never forget and I can't wait to take the rest of my kids.
