The Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Buckaroo Fair aims to promote and sustain the art of cowboy poetry and the cowboy way of life. Told through tall tales and folk songs regarding the Western lifestyle, this week-long event features a range of Western-themed activities. To step back in time, stop by the Mountain Man Trader Camp. Traditional Western vendors, dressed period costume from the 18th and 19th centuries, will be offering their handmade replicas of a bygone era, including jewelry, leather wares, knives, and pelts. Watch a blacksmith at work or converse with real live mountain men. Other events on the agenda include rodeos, barbecues, dancing, concerts, a fiddler and guitar workshop, and train rides.
