The San Carlos Cathedral, also known as Royal Presidio Chapel, has been into existence since 1770's. The cathedral was the first building made in Monterey, also it is the only one that has for so long served as a place of worship. The beautiful architectural style of this cathedral is what one should not miss, it has a Spanish and Moorish influence, that makes it look all the more beautiful.
