As it turns out, Nebraska is not as landlocked as you might think. An impressive collection of naval history sits on the banks of the Missouri River. The USS Hazard, a World War II minesweeper; the USS Marlin, a training submarine; and the USS LSM-45, an amphibious landing ship, are all on display. Both the Hazard and the LSM-45 played an active role in the Pacific. Although the naval museum is closed and tours are no longer available, the park is well worth a visit.
