On the second Saturday of every month, participating Sacramento art galleries stay open a little later than usual and open their doors to the public without admission fees. Many offer wine and appetizers as well. Growing more popular every year, Second Saturday is a great opportunity for artists to showcase their work and for locals of all ages to become exposed to the Sacramento art scene. Galleries and coffee shops all over Sacramento participate, but the midtown/downtown area usually boasts the most people. Many galleries are open all day, but it starts to get more lively around 6p and ends around 9p or 10p.
