The Souk El Koumach (namely the Souk of fabric) is on the West side of the Mosquée Zitouna. Its current form dates from the Hafside times (12th-16th centuries). Handcrafted Tunisian fabrics have been sent here since those times, but you can also find Tunisian carpets and clothes. This beautiful Souk consists of three alleys covered by vaulting ceilings. N.L.
