Sernyaa is the only restaurant in the city that serves Tibetan cuisine. Modest and demure, the restaurant is a little hole in the wall, but spot the red door and the intricate mandala and you know you have the right place. The walls are in shades of red and green with Tibetan artwork adorning them. Contrastingly, there's soft rock playing from the speakers. The eatery seats at most 20 diners, most of whom are engrossed in their Thukpa (thick buttery soup, with meat or vegetables) or steamed momos. The choices at Sernyaa are plenty (chicken, fish, lamb) which taste divine; all of them are served with a smile. It's worth traveling across town for this.
