L’Église Saint-Aspais is a Gothic-style church, built under architects Jehan de Félin and Jehan Francois, in the heart of Melun. Classified as a historic building in 1914, the building has been through many trials since its original construction in the early 16th century. Parts of the building have collapsed and World War II also left its mark, but despite all of this destruction, the church still stands to this day, thanks to a grueling restoration process between 1997 and 1999. Visitors from far and wide come to this site to witness its astounding originality and overall beauty. Some must-sees are the wooden statue of St. Peter, the 6 white marble medallions that represent the heads of the Apostles, a wooden Christ without his cross fixed directly to the wall, and the most eye-catching, the stained glass dating all the way back to the 16th century. Come witness this architectural wonder!
