A visit to Champagne Taittinger is not only an opportunity to sample fine wine, its also a step into the past. Champagne Taittinger offers tours of its majestic cellars, parts of which date back to the 13th century when they were used by the Saint Nicaise Abbey monks to store wine. These were built on the site of 4th century Gallo-Roman chalk mines. The House itself has been producing fine champagne since it was established in 1734.
