Although one may not think viticulture when they go to Colorado, someone actually did. And now you can taste what grapes grown five to six thousand feet up leave on the palate. Although Breckenridge Winery doesn't have a formal tasting room, you can make an appointment to schedule a tasting for $10. Winemaker, James Davis, imports some of his grapes from Napa Valley, Carneros and Sonoma Valley, and blends it with his own varietals grown right in Colorado. Any wine connoisseurs would be crazy not to drop by and say hi, and check how they stomp grapes in the Rockies. Remember, you must call ahead to make an appointment for a tasting.
