29km (18 miles) northwest of Moscow, Sheremetyevo International Airport opens its skies to 10 million passengers a year with flights to more than 100 countries all over the world. Facilities include restaurants, bars, post offices, shops, banks, bureau de change, VIP lounges, left luggage and some basic office services. There are short-term parking facilities available close to both terminals. There are 24-hour buses running into Moscow. The bus stops can be found outside Terminal 1 and on the Arrivals Level of terminal 2. Bus 551 and 571 go to metro stops Rechnoi Vokzal and Planernaya respectively. Hire cars are available from Avis, National, Hertz and Budget among others. Taxis are the safest and easiest way to get into the city if your hotel isn’t sending a courtesy van, although they’re a bit on the pricey side. Taxi ranks are on the Arrivals level of Terminal 2 and outside Terminal 1. Alternatively, Autoline runs a fixed route taxi and Airbus service every 20 minutes. Sheremetyevo has two terminals that are a 15-minute journey apart. Public and express buses, fixed-rate taxis and free shuttles go between the two. Both terminals have restaurants and bars for a bite to eat or a drink before departure. The airport is not very well equipped for disabled travellers and wheelchair users must arrange transfers from the aircraft to the terminal building in advance. The airport has a pharmacy and a medical office. If you want a hotel super close to the terminal, the Novotel Sheremetyevo-2 Hotel (tel: +7 495 926 5900) are located at Terminal 2.
