This festival is held in Chinatown each September around the 15th day of the 8th lunar month or the autumnal equinox to celebrate the summer harvest, and to pay homage to Chang-O, the Chinese moon deity. On the auspicious day, the Chinese gather in their homes to dine together and consume moon cakes—it's their own special Thanksgiving. Acrobats, Chinese opera, dancers and magicians entertain the crowds at Grant Avenue. Street vendors sell a variety of traditional Chinese wares and food. Coming to Chinatown and learn all about Chinese culture.
