Elaborate calligraphy inscribed on the raw cement floor and beautiful ceramic frescos greet you as you enter this gallery. Probably the only privately owned museum in the world featuring works of a single living artist, it carries contemporary paintings done mainly in oil and Chinese ink by the eminent local painter, Tan Swie Hian. Besides being a Cultural Medallion artist (a prestigious recognition by the local government), he has also been awarded France's Chevalier de L'Ordre Nationale du Merite. Admission is free.
