It features more than 1,100 animals from around the world and an ever-growing portfolio of innovative exhibitions, which allows guests to get up close and personal with grizzly bears, moose and wolves. Life-sized dinosaur models lurk in the badlands of the Prehistoric Park, and the more genteel setting of the botanical park includes a butterfly garden. Calgary Zoo's bat exhibit has never been more popular than during Halloween week. Bring the kids down to the zoo for special, spooky exhibits and plenty of Halloween fun. Dare to enter the Leopard Lounge or Tunnel of Terror and brave the dangers of the jungle. Children under 12 receive a special treat, but shouldn't get too close to the Cannibal Kitchen lest they become a treat themselves. Tickets must be pre-purchased. See zoo website for more info.
