During January and February, when the waters off Jupiter are still a balmy 70-78 Farenheit, a unique courting ceremony takes place at this reef. Hundreds of Lemon Sharks, a yellow-brown species which grows up to nine feet long, gather to pick their mates, a phenomenon that has been observed nowhere else in the world. The sharks are far more interested in each other than a piece of your leg, so forget any fear and drift overhead to watch the undersea ritual. Other interesting sites in the area include Hole in the Wall and Loggerhead Reef, as well as the local wreck diving sites.
