The Salt Cathedral is 30 miles north of Bogotá, in Zipaquirá, which is the largest salt-producing region since pre-Columbian times. Constructed in the heart of a mountain, the cathedral was first opened to the public in the 1950s. Its lofty ceiling is around 25 meters high, and the space can hold up to 10,000 people.
