Though many fans were sad to see the Charlotte Hornets relocate to New Orleans in 2002, the coming of the Bobcats helped them deal with their grief. The name refers to the fact that the bobcat is one of the only fierce predators indigenous to the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. Owners include BET founder Bob Johnson and NBA titan Michael Jordan. The Bobcats are a relatively young team, but that does not make them any less fierce than their namesake. Watch them in action October through May at Charlotte Bobcats Arena downtown. Tickets start as low as $15 per seat. See website for season tickets and package deals.
