An oasis in the desert, Las Vegas National hosted PGA and LPGA Tour Events including the Tournament of Champions and the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational. Palm, pine, and olive trees protect the well-bunkered greens and lush fairways. Unlike other Las Vegas layouts, there is rough, not desert, bordering the fairways. The fairways and greens are soft. As a result, there's not much roll in the fairways, and the greens hold well. National's greens are the second smallest in Nevada, elevated and surrounded by large bunkers. The course has five par 3 holes offering a stern test while three mid-length par fives offer good chances for par or birdie.
