Back to Hotel Odinsve I'd stay here again. The Front desk staff was friendly and had several good recommendations for sightseeing adn restaurants. The Deleuxe Single rooms were spacious though the bathrooms are typically tiny as in the rest of Europe. It had a nice breakfast buffet. Iceland is an expensive country and this hotel is no different. But I think I got my $ worth.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 28 2005 Lovely property near the hub of Reykjavik I've had very good experiences at the Hotel Odinsve. The staff is efficient and courteous and the rooms always very clean. The staff is happy to make touring reservations and recommendations for you. The rooms differ in size and shape, so ask about the specifications if that's important to you; some companions had a loft in theirs. Don't expect fancy opulence, however: the hotels in Iceland tend to be simple (but comfortable) and minimalistic. Perhaps it is the Scandinavian tradition. While it's not in the middle of downtown, Odinsve is just a couple of blocks from the main thoroughfare and quieter to boot. It is a block from the handknitting store (wollens) and a short stroll to the church. Breakfast was included and plentiful.
