Atlantic Shores is no more Atlantic Shores was torn down and replaced with hotel rooms from a neighboring resort. Would you recommend this to a friend? No
Paradise Found In 1983, during the week of the 4'th of July, a friend and I stumbled onto the Atlantic Shores on my first visit to the Keys. Our room was $45.00/ night!!! Of course, it costs more now, but I still hold fond memories of the following 16 consecutive vacations we spent at "The Shores". We used to sit on the pier all night, get drunk, and watch pink clouds drift by the Milky Way. Ah, mis-spent youth!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 05 2008 WE HAD A BLAST..WEBCAM WAS GREAT! It is a shame that "ATLANTIC SHORES" AND "DINA SHORES" is no longer in KW. My parnter and I of 10 years have vacationed in KW the entire 10 years that we have been together. ATLANTIC SHORES was the best!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 04 2008 Still There? I stayed at Atlantic Shores for three years in a row. The last two I went with friends and we used the apartment. It was immaculate, well-maintained, and we had a wonderful time. Rumor at the time was that it was about to be torn down and replaced with condos.... don't know if that happened, but that may have been where the service went. When I was there, they had a loyal, dedicated, and longtime staff who could not have been nicer to us.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 14 2007 Well it's gone now Stayed at the Shores a couple times. Rates were decent, but it's not the Ritz. Heck it's a beach town. Pool area was fun to hang out. The crowds were entertaining. Rooms were functional, but coulda been better. I'm gonna miss the Shores.

Reviewed by: Angel A from on May 23 2007 Great Place...NOT!!! Well....first of all, I am not a "prude" as some previous comments state that "people who leave this hotel bad reviews must be prudes". Actually, what does that have to do with the fact that the place is DIRTY and in desperate need of remodeling...some deep cleaning and disinfecting of the rooms would help too. Yeah, it is usually cheaper than some of the other places in Key West but seriously, it's not worth saving 20 bucks a night to feel uncomfortable and grossed-out in your own room. I have stayed there twice...the first time I thought maybe I just had happened to take a room that a very non-hardworking staff member had "supposedly cleaned". However, on another trip to key West (I was unable to find a place with vacancy near Duval except Atlantic Shores and I didn't want to stay ALLLLL the way at the entrance of the island) I decided to give it another chance. WELL.....NEVER AGAIN! It was just as bad if not worse...the tile floors were STILL dirty, the sheets STILL dingy (looked like some had slept there and the sheets not changed) and worn out, the bathroom was STILL gross, I took a shower in my sandals (again). I didn't want to touch anything, I was disgusted, it looked like some run down, third-world country motel. The pool area was fun with the bar, a very nice view and a casual crowd but the accomodations themselves, NO! This place makes a Super 8 Motel look like a 5-star resort. I would never stay there again, it was just flat out UNHYGENIC. Spend the extra 20 or 30 bucks to stay somewhere else and at least have the peace of mind of knowing that when you return to your room, you can actually feel alright throwing yourself on the bed, probably a much more comfortable one than the beds here! The pool parties and the location are the only 2 good things about this place.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 31 2006 Filthy dump This place was horrible, when we checked in the rooms stunk of mildew. The floors looked like they haden't been cleaned in quite some time. When we walked into the bathroom, we found that the faucet was broken and there were hairs on the towels. The other couple we were with had similar conditions in their room. We found another hotel in Key West and stayed there and ate the money that we wasted on this dump. VERY POOR expirence. I have stayed in some very disgusting places in my life but this place tops them all.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 28 2006 not a value... Rooms are very overpriced for what one gets. For $150/nite I expect a lot more than what I got considering:
Reviewed by: Robert from on Nov 08 2006 Dirty, Dirty, Dirty! This hotel was one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. For one the service was horrible. We rented 8 rooms and the front desk people were very rude and unaccomidating. The rooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The sheets were not changed daily and the towels were stained. The tile on the floor was filthy. The microwave hadn't been cleaned and some of the rooms had bugs in the beds and the air conditioning did not work in other rooms. I will never stay here again!
