Predominantly displaying fine paintings, this museum also exhibits excellent sculpture, 126 paintings on permanent exhibition, and other works rotated throughout the year. Opened in 1965, this museum is home to San Diego's only Rembrandt painting on public display, 'Saint Bartholomew'. The collection also includes other works by European Old Masters, American Artists and Russian icons. There is a free afternoon lecture/gallery talk on Thursdays at 1:30p. Admission is free.

Includes old European Master paintings, Russian icons and American art. A featured highlight is San Diego's only painting by the great Dutch artist, Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn. American artists showcased include John Singleton Copley and Eastman Johnson. The work of Russian sculptor, Giambologna is also on display.

Timken Museum of Art Guided Gallery Tours

The 'Timken Museum of Art Guided Gallery Tours' are held in the Timken Museum of Art and are specially designed for college students and grade K-12 students. The tour will explain and give you information about the "Timken's Putnam Foundation Collection". The tours are available in English and Spanish and are held from Tuesday to Friday, and every second and third Saturday. Call in for bookings and tour timings.
