Best In Chicago
We have stayed at The Sofitel numerous times. It is not the only Chicago hotel we will visit. The atmosphere is relaxed, upscale and exudes class. The staff, from management to service to cleaning staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and extremely well maintained. The bar and restaurant are excellent. We truly enjoy every stay and leave looking forward to our return.

Not that impressed!
From reading the reviews, I expected the Sofitel to be a cut above the rest,

Unquestionably a superb place to stay
Great service, location, ambience and beds. Clean. Warm and friendly bar. I would --and have-- recommended to others.

First-Rate Hotel!
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms were AMAZING, Bathrooms were FIRST-CLASS, and Service was IMPECCABLE. The location was perfect... walking distance to John Hancock Tower, Rush St, Michigan Ave., and Red Line Train Station. The price is a bit high (but typical for the location and the high standard), but I found a good online deal. I hardly ever write reviews, so I felt this hotel deserved my 5-star write-up.

Love it!!!
I loved this place! It is one block for Michagen Ave. The lobby was beautiful and the people are so helpful. The room was breath taking. Ask for a higher up floor.

One of the best hotels in Chicago, Great location.
Stayed here before and this must be one of the best in its category. Peninsula is nicer but costs two to three times more. Great locations, quiet compare to Michigan Ave. hotels.

Service Supreme!
The friendly staff were amazing! We had a block of rooms for our daughter's wedding and the Hotel staff made such an effort to put all of our guests and families on one floor and beside one another. They let us check in early and went above and beyond the call of duty to grant our every need.

Nothin' special hotel
Just stayed there 2/3/07. Was looking for a fun, contemporary hotel and it didn't deliver. The lobby was nice, and the rooms were mostly clean, but it really wasn't special. Service time was slow for room requests, found empty waterbottles under the chair, and the alarm was set for 7:30 am, which we of course didn't find out until it was 7 am. Nice, but I would have rather gotten a deal at a Hilton or a Hyatt!
