I am caught!
Everything and more that one could hope for in a restaurant in such a fine property that screams California's finest. Lively atmosphere and succulent cuisine, Catch is definitely the best in California living.

My favorite hotel in California
Location, Location, Location. Right on the beach, just a block or so from the Santa Monica Pier, and only a short walk to Venice Beach. What a great place to stay. Beautiful old hotel with modern appointments. I have stayed at this hotel at least 10 times, and I won't stay anywhere else in LA, unless I am unable to get a room at this hotel. Even if I need to go into downtown LA, it is worth the commute to stay at this beautiful beach hotel. Be sure to rent a bike and ride along the beach on the bike trail. It goes for a mile or so in each direction from the hotel -- Mailibu to the North and Venice Beach to the South.

stunning, stylish, best on the beach in Santa Monica
Casa Del Mar is the best, most luxurious hotel right on the beach in Santa Monica. Style-wise, I prefer it to the Loew's Santa Monica and to Shutters on the Beach. The lobby is stunning. Toward the back is the Veranda restaurant with big windows looking right onto the beach. It's a great place to have dinner! The rooms are gorgeous and posh, and one great thing is that the windows in the guests suites open up, so you can smell the ocean. The windows in my room at Le Merigot in Santa Monica did not open up.They allow small dogs under 20 pounds, with the manager's approval. It's a wonderful, luxurious place to stay.
