Considered by local officials as one of the "eight minor sights of Xiamen," this cave is worthy of at least four or five snapshots. The cave is named after two white clay deer statues that face the cave's walls. In the summer steam drifts from the cave's crevices creating the illusion that the deer figures are sniffing the air. The cave entrance is fronted by a temple built during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), giving the site a serious "wow factor". The panoramic sites from here of Xiamen and the sea are outstanding.
