Torongo Zoo - Sydney
This is one of the best zoos I have ever been too. Beautiful location and lovely enclosures for the animals. A trip to Sydney must include the zoo. Don't miss the elephants and the red panda!

A Zoo-Lover's Favorite Zoo
As a person who has taken several trips just to see different zoos, the Taronga Zoo was a required stop while I was in Sydney on my honeymoon and is now my all-time favorite. (In fact, in my humble opinion, the breathtaking view of Sydney Harbor from the bird show amphitheater was my favorite after a week of sightseeing.) The park is basically on a hill, so if you take a ferry/watertaxi to the zoo, take the scenic skyride to the top and work your way down to save your feet. Several exhibits of note – with their ample room and easy viewing, the zoo's great ape exhibits (gorillas, chimps, orangs) should be used as a template for other zoos’ renovations. With “raised ground” and glass, the lion & tiger exhibit was simply awesome, allowing the animals to be at eye-level with the visitor. And, of course, those exhibits including native Australian species were wonderful. The nicely landscaped grounds and restrooms were clean, and the newer food court was pleasant and moderately-priced. An abandoned bear enclosure gives visitors a rare and enlightening opportunity to see how animals were housed behind the scenes “back in the day.” Although the harbor-entrance gift shop seemed a bit bare in looking for Taronga-specific souvenirs of our trip. A beautiful zoo that should not be missed!

I am a zoo friend and always love going
I know it is only temporary but lack of parking and having 4 zoo memberships still having to pay to pay to park.I have had memberships for 5 years I think I and other zoo friends should NOT have pay to park.

A favourite
I love going to Taronga Zoo. It is friendly and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend going! It is definitely worth the money but I wouldn't buy any souveneirs or anything. Go for a whole day and explore all the sections and shows - you won't regret it!
